Welcome to our Gingerbread Horse Campaign!

Currently, there are 3,000 Riding for the Disabled riders. They are in 56 different local communities across New Zealand.

Gingerbread Horse backs local riders, volunteers and specially-trained therapy horses. It enables their participation in goal-based riding and increases their ability, independence and self-worth.

Gingerbread Horse registrations open each year during August. Bakers have until the end of September to bake, ice, sell and donate their proceeds to support Riding for the Disabled.

Click on the relevant Info Hub to find out more.

Individual baker registrations for this year have now closed.

But Gingerbread Horse is an ideal group activity at any time of the year. If your school, community group or business would like to get involved, please contact us at admin@rda.org.nz or on 04 234 6090.

We provide the recipe, posters, cookie bags, cookie labels, and cookie cutters.

Use these free resources to conjure up beautiful horse-shaped biscuits. Help reach more riders and change more lives in your local community. Establish goals. Co-operate and communicate. Learn about each other, and about diversity and people with disabilities.
